Six BAH-HUM Flags!

Yesterday we took the LAPD to Six Flags for our after Chrsitmas, Christmas party. I would have to say that going during Holiday in The Park is kinda a waste of money. For some reason they close all the "Big" Roller Coster Rides so we only got to ride a few, but we did a lot . We took the kids to Taco Bell before we got to the park and when we walked in, the manager asked us where we were from, so I responded Wichita Falls and she asked what church we were from and I told her. Evie was her name, she began telling us about her grandma when she was little prayed for her broken toe and it was healed! We sat down to eat and she asked us to pray for her son that just got out of prison, his name is Dustin. I was thinking if it wasn't for the way that we were dressed, Evie wouldn't even thought twice of asking where we went to church, oh the power of Holiness. Please pray for Dustin and Evie. As a result, our LAPDer's were able to see the power of God at work in witnessing to Evie. So, even without the rides, the trip was a great success!

These Boots Were Made for WORKIN'

After many years of trying to convince everyone that I needed a new pair of work boots, I finally convinced my hesitant wife to get me some for Christmas. I think she got them for me so I'd shut up about wanting them. She did a good job picking them out too! She got EXACTLY what I wanted without me helping her out. True, they were made for working but they are just too nice right now to wear them for that. Kim has always been afraid that I would actually wear them in public and that's why she's never gotten them for me, and I will. With no offense to any of my other givers, these boots were the best gift I received this year thanks to my wonderful wife. Okay, I'll stop being oogie, if that's a word. I was going to take a pic of all my gifts to post but I suddenly realized that you probably don't want to see SOME of the gifts, so I decided against it. Here's one, though, that I received from one of my "Other" Mom's that I really loved. It's an ornament that is a replica of Yankee's Stadium in NY. She remembered that I am a baseball fan, fascinated by baseball stadiums and that I collect replicas, so she got me one for our tree. Thank you Sis. Barbara, I love it!
We had a wonderful Christmas this year, blessed to be able to share it with family and friends. Christmas Night, Darin and Carla came over to our apartment and spent a few hours with us. It was great getting to be with them. Strange seeing Darin, excuse me, Dr. Darin, married! Carla is wonderful and we really enjoyed them being with us this year. Don't have any pictures to share of Christmas Day because Kim didn't get her NEW DIGITAL CAMERA until Tuesday, so we are missing those pics, but next year, you better be prepared! Anyway, I hope you all had a great Christmas and have a wonderful New Year!

And Now.... The Rest of the Story

For those who remember the 'Saga' of Jorgie and the infamous 'Only' Black purse, well.... I have good news. Santa saw Kim's heartbroken state and decided that since she had been so good this year, he would replace the ill fated purse with a new, brighter, shinier, and less hairy 'Only' Black Purse!!!

I found a note from Jorgie to Santa stating that since she had been such a bad girl to her female master, she asked if Santa would forgo bringing her a gift, if he would but bring a purse to satisfy the longings of her master's heart and replace the plucked purse. Not only did Santa replace the 'Only' Black Purse, but he brought her SEVERAL MORE!!! Each one having just a little different style for just that perfect occasion. I fear what this will do in the ole shoe department. Will there be more shoes to accompany the 'Only' Black Shoes too???
Nevertheless, here's to the old 'Only' Black purse, will she ever be in our hearts, and here's to a new, brighter, less hairy life of the new 'Only' Black purse and all of her friends who so graciously followed her into the daring life of living with Jorgie. May Kim never leave her purses within the reach of a jealous dog again. And now You know..... the rest of the story!!

Merry Christmas!

Just want to say Merry Christmas to all my fellow bloggers! I'm blessed to have such wonderful friends and family. I love you all and hope you have a wonderful holiday with your families.

BEFORE YOU LEAP

You are probably wondering why I have a picture of Kermit the Frog on my Blog.Well..................Yesterday I was in Target doing some last minute shopping and I saw this book called " Before You Leap", so I bought it because I love Kermit the Frog. The book is about a "Frog's-Eye View of Life's Greatest Lessons." There are different Quotes in the book that were really good but there was one that got my attention, "Life was Great. But without bad times, we wouldn't know the difference." I thought to myself how true that little green frog was. Well anyways, I hope you have a Merry Christmas.

San Antonio!!

Last weekend, Kim and I went to my cousin Darin's wedding in Austin. Then Saturday, we went shopping in San Marcos and then to San Antonio to get away for a bit on the Riverwalk. We both absolutely LOVE San Antonio! Anyway, we went to the Rivercenter Mall and did a bit of shopping and then went down on the river that evening. We had a great time and really enjoyed the FOOD!!! If you ever get to go there, go to Casa Rio. It's the oldest restaurant on the river. It's just in the 'T' of the river that goes to the mall. Can't beat the food in my opinion.

After we ate, we went on the river boat tour. It was great, as usual. We met a wonderful lady and her mother who kept us laughing the whole time. They took this photo here for us, since the other grouchy lady on the bridge wouldn't do it! We walked up to a lady on one of the bridges where there was a beautiful backdrop of Christmas lights over the river and asked her to take our picture. She turns around with this scowl on her face and said "WHAT?!?!" I politely wished her Merry Christmas and told her of a Wonderful church in Pflugerville she should visit.... okay, so I didn't do the last part, but if I'd have thought of it.... You can count on me Bro. Gene & Sis. Karla! Anyway, we had a great time!

Friends are Friends Forever.......

These are some of our friends that we like to call our "Group". There are some missing from the pictures because they weren't around during picture time. I do have to say that when I first moved here away from my friends in Ft.Worth, I didn't think that I could ever be close to any of them but I was wrong. They are my strengh, they encourage me, they pray for me and they make me laugh. I love you all!

SCRATCH AND SNIFF!!!!!!

Ok, I know I always seem to write about our dogs, and its probably getting old, but OH MY GOODNESS.... We are keeping Lori's dog Zoe while she is down from her surgery... Lori, that is, not Zoe. It is now that I have discovered that three dogs in a two bedroom apartment is just about more than anyone could ever possibly want or need. I am going insane from all the running back and forth, scratching, sniffing, licking, licking, licking..... AAAAAAAAAARGHHHH!!! WOULD YOU STOP JORGIE!!!! Oh, sorry... Anyway, don't ever have three dogs unless you have 253.26 acres of land for them to run away on. Can't wait for Lori to be back! Here's a pic that has nothing to do with this post, Except for the fact that it reminds me of when we were on top of Mt. Taos 13,200 ft. up, just above Taos Ski Lodge, and about 634 miles away from three dogs.

Sir Chandler Dutton

Since Kim's dog made headlines, Chandler got a little jealous. So, here he is! This is Chandler, Chanbo, Chan Chan, Bub, Ole Man, whatever you wish. He is my dog! Yes, he's spoiled and a bit moody, funny how our dogs match our personalities! He's a Rat Terrier I've had since 2001 and he is scared of mice, rats, Eddie Jordan, anything that walks on all fours. If you know Eddie, ask him about it. Anyway, Chandler just turned six(42) and is showing every bit of his age. The other night, I told him and Jorgie to go "Night-night", Jorgie has no problem with it, but Chandler, hmmm... Quite the opposite! You have to convince him. So, like EVERY night, I gave him a light pat on the behind as he went into his cage and he nearly bit my hand off. It was then followed up with that look of "I KNOW WHAT I'M DOING AND I DON'T NEED YOUR HELP." What was that about personalities? He found out quick, that I would assist him however and whenever I wanted. Yep, I'll make a great dad. lol!
