Bitter Cold, Loud, Silent Night in Electra, TX

I'm on my work computer and ran on to this pic, which made me think of a funny story, and in an attempt to correct our blog, I'm posting it here instead of at 'Dubya.'
This picture was taken at the Electra Christmas Parade several years back. You can't see in in the picture, but it was sleeting the WHOLE TIME I was playing, and if you know anything about saxophones, you know that cold weather is not good for the reed, pads, and just the horn as a whole. I played FLAT AS CAN BE!!! The funny thing is, they had me play at the end of the parade. I had played a couple of songs and got to 'Silent Night', it was EVERYTHING BUT SILENT, that's for sure! During the first verse, Santa came by on his float with a big ole gas generator running to power the lights on the float and STOPPED right in front of me to wave at the crowd. The fumes were atrocious!! As he was sitting there, the fire siren began to sound. You know, the kind that sound as if we have just learned of a nuclear missile being shot at us from Korea, letting everyone in the state know to take cover. If you've ever been in a small town when there's a fire, you know what I'm talking about. It went on forever and when it quit.... well.... you guest it, the fire trucks started in. I tried so hard to finish the song without laughing through my horn. I've never been asked back since. It was quite an experience. Hope all is well on this fine Wednesday in the Great Southwest!

50 Years!!!

This past weekend we went to Ft.Worth for my Memaw and Poppy's 50th Wedding Anniversary. My Aunts and Uncles, plus my Mom did a incredible job. I wanted to tell everyone that my grandparents are the best grandparents that anyone could have. They are what Godly married people should be.I look up to them and I love them, more than I should tell them. Memaw always told me when I was not doing right, she give's the best advice about living for God and the things of God. My Poppy... What can I say. He has always loved me no matter what, like the Lord; Poppy is my rock. Thank You for the Heritage you both have given us and Thank You for the example you have shown us. I Love You!!

Anyone like a 'Big Mac?'

We are back from the world of the dead computer!! My PC is now fixed and runnin' better than ever. It is now sporting a new 19" monitor and brand new, never opened, photo printer. We have been blessed by Kim's dad giving us some computer equipment that he bought new and never used, or didn't like. He asked if we wanted it, "It's just in the way here," he said. So, Kim and I were MORE than appreciative to receive such gifts.
If you noticed at the beginning, I said MY computer, not OURS; well, that's because along with a new monitor and a photo printer. Kim's dad gave us another computer!!!!! Bro. Gene, Sis. Karla, this is for you. Here's where the title comes in, He gave us an eMac! That's right, I said an eMAC!!!! It's not the new flat panel kind, its the 'bigger' one. The one that sort of resembles the old conventional monitor. It's a year old. Kim's dad said that he bought it and it wouldn't do what he wanted it to so he stopped using it. I guess it wouldn't sprout legs and dance or something. I haven't had time to mess with it yet, but when I get a chance, he gave me a bunch of software for it and some games to install on it. I can't wait to play with it! I guess that Mac wasn't as far off as I thought! Anyway, that's now 'Kim's' computer. So, as you can see, we were without a doubt blessed!! Thank you David and Regina for all your love and generosity.
We had a great weekend! I'm sure Kim will have some pics to post shortly, now that we're live and local and ready to report again! Hope all is well with everyone!

Computrecrasherosis(Com/put/er/crash/er/osis)

Our computer has a nasty virus and some sort of 'spyware' something or other. Dr. Charles is working 'feverishly' to quarantine the virus and restore the health of our precious computer's life. The doc assures us that the computer will be up and kickin' in no time, until then.... Happy Blogging to you all, and watch out for those viruses!!! I'm blogging from work, by the way. In honor of this rare occasion, here is a random pic from my work computer. Looks as if I got bored one day and customized the backend of Kim's old Jeep. It gets pretty boring at times around here! Today, for instense! Nice wheels but where are the taillights??

Spring Cleaning!!!!

I know what all of you are thinking " She need's to clean her closet" and I know. I have known this for months. I have just been to lazy to do so and just don't really have the time, to do a good cleaning. So when Lynn drew for like 6 hours! I cleaned out my closet!!!! It is amazing what you will find when you clean. I didn't know I had so many shoe's:) I don't know how long it will look like this, hopefully longer than what it took me to clean it out. I also sold some stuff on ebay of stuff I found, maybe somebody will get more use out of it than I did.
