Well, it's about that time of year again.
Four more days til the greatest sport of all begins it's training to see who will make it to the Fall Classic. Yep, baseball season is upon us. I know I'm not a "Die-hard" fan, but I do enjoy the game. Something about the excitement of pitch and catch, hearing the crack of a bat, and the Ump yell "
SSSTEEEEEERRRRIIIIKE!" It makes me think back to when I was a "Die-Hard", back in Jr. High and High School. I used to get my
jam box outside and listen to Mark Holts and Eric Neadell on WBAP broadcasting the Rangers playing whoever and usually losing, but I didn't care, I was enjoying the spring air and playing catch with the wall. Yeah, the wall... Not many friends in the neighborhood, and I didn't really want to play with them anyway. None of them wanted to play catch with a golf ball. Yeah, that's right again! I read in a book called "The Rookie"

where they would play catch with the wall with a
golf ball to improve eye-hand coordination so I tried it. IT WORKED!!! The more I did it, the better I got, so I started practicing batting a
golf ball and guess what, it worked there too. True, I'm no Nolan or Willie Mays, but I do enjoy the game. So, today, on this dreary winter day, I look forward to the warm, long days of spring and summer, and the distant lights of a baseball diamond lit up as I pass by and remember my younger days, when there wasn't a worry in the world, except a 150 mph.
golf ball ricocheting off the wall back at my forehead. Those were the good ole days! Oh and the pic in the middle is this months random picture. It's of Sis. Kassie and I, playing at a Christmas Party for the funeral homes. What a joyous
occasion!!
