A Simple Act of Kindness

Tonight some of the Ladies of Life Tabernacle took time out of their busy schedule to pass out Halloween treat to the residents of Monterrey Care Center.I feel very strongly about elderly people that live in nursing homes, most of the time their families just "dump" them there because they don't want to have that burden and they never go and visit them. All the people we passed out cookies and cupcakes too were so happy and overwhelmed that someone else cared. One of the first ladies we gave a treat too, had a massive stroke and was unable to talk, she started to cry because someone else cared enough to stop what their doing and show a little kindness.Needless to say we were all teary eyed. Next month for Thanksgiving I am hoping we can do this again at another nursing home.

Oops! I made a mistake on the first one and that drives me crazy!! So... here's the corrected version:

Kim - I am so proud of y'all and thankful for the burden you have for this ministry. I know y'all were a beautiful example of God's love to these people. Love you!

Up until a few weeks ago I was the activity director for Monterey care center on 10th street, it brought a smile to my face to see the pictures of them. I know every single one of the residents you have a picture on your blog.
