This recipe is one of my husband's favorites that I make....of coarse we like anything with pasta!Who doesn't??I normally make it with ground beef but decided to make it with sweet italian turkey sausage instead. All I can say is....oh my or as my son now says"Yummy"!
1 pkg of Sweet Italian Turkey Sausage
1 box of Penne Noodles
1 pkg of Shredded Italian Style Cheese
1 Small Onion(chopped)
1 Medium Green Bell Pepper(chopped)
1 can Italian Diced Tomatoes
1 can Chicken Broth
1 tsp of Olive Oil
Salt & Pepper(to taste)
Garlic Salt (to taste)
Heat up your olive oil in your pan. Add your onion, bell pepper and sausage(remember to remove sausage from casings. Cook all together till done. Next add your can diced tomatoes to sausage mixture, along with your seasoning. Bring to a boil and then simmer uncovered for 30 minutes. While sauce is cooking cook your noodles in half water/half chicken broth(the chicken broth gives the noodles a better flavor, in my opinion)I also like to add another tsp of olive oil to the water, it helps keep the noodles from sticking together. Bring water to a boil and then add you noodles, cook till done. You will also need to heat up your oven to 350. Once noodles are cooked, drain liquid. You will need a 9x13 glass dish. Add your noodles to the dish and then pour the sausage mixture on top and mix well. Then you will need to top off with the shredded cheese. Place in oven and cook for about 15 minutes, till cheese is good and melted. Enjoy!!
