Beef Tips and Fried Cabbage

Beef Tips and Rice is one of my favorite comfort foods. This recipe is so easy to make and really good!


Beef Tips

1 pound of beef tips
1-2 cups of rice
1 package of dry onion soup mix
1 package of dry brown gravy mix
1 can of cream of mushroom soup
2 cups of beef broth



Get out at the ole' faithful crock pot. Put all the ingredients in it except for the rice. You can either cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 4 hours( The last time I made this I cooked on high for 4 hours and the beef tips came out tender.) Cook your rice according to directions. (I also add some chicken bouillon to the rice when cooking for some extra flavor)Serve beef tips and gravy over rice.

Fried Cabbage

1 head of cabbage(chopped)
1 small onion
4 pieces of center cut bacon strips(once cooked, crumble)
Salt and Pepper to taste
1/4 cup water 


Cook your bacon til crispy and set a side. Saute your onion in the bacon grease,add chopped cabbage and water. Cook your cabbage till desired tenderness, also season with salt and pepper.(stir your cabbage while cooking to get all the cabbage good and seasoned)Once cooked add your crumbled bacon.
